Hostel Application
Conditions to Reside at Hostel
- The allocation for boarding facilities for individuals will be at the sole discretion of the hostel Board of trustees of the Jawatte Jummah masjid. The decision of the board of trustees in this regard is final and cannot be questioned.
- In the allocation of available boarding facilities, priority will be given to full time GCE A/L students and then to full time undergraduate & professional students. Boarding facilities will not be provided to part time or full time Employed individuals.
- A hosteller will be permitted to stay at the hostel for a fixed period of time which will be determined by the board of trustees. The maximum period of stay granted will be 06 months. At the end of this period he is expected to vacate his room. If he wishes to extend his stay, he will have to make a fresh application for consideration by the board of trustees. An automatic extension of stay is not guaranteed. The decision will be at the sole discretion of the board of trustees.Hostellers must ensure that all their contact details ( Eg: postal Address, school / institute Address telephone numbers) are current and up to date. The masjid office has to be notified in writing of any changes that may occur as early as possible.
- A hosteller must be within the masjid premises by 09.30 PM on all days if for any reason whatsoever a hosteller needs to return later than 09.30 PM, he must inform the office in person (not through a friend or relative) of his expected time of return.
- If a hosteller for any reason whatsoever has to temporarily vacate his room for even one night, he must inform the masjid office of the date and time of his vacate and return.
- All the hostellers will at all times conduct themselves -in word and deed- in a manner conforming to the highest traditions of Islam.
- Hostellers are not permitted to use any type of electronic equipment to watch any type of audio, video – visual production for purposes of entertainment within the premises of the hostel –even in the privacy of their rooms.
- It is obligatory for every hosteller to join the Jawatte (congregational prayer) on every occasion that he is present in the vicinity of the Jawatte Jummah masjid.
- Every hosteller must pay a deposit of 3-month rent at the commencement of his occupancy. This amount will be refunded in full at the end of his tenancy, less the cost of any damage to masjid property and any other outstanding payments due the Jawatte Jummah masjid.
- The fees for particular month be paid on or before the 10th of each Month.
- Hosteller must extend their co-operation to the hostel staff to keep their rooms and all areas of the hostel clean.
- Hostellers are not permitted to entertain unauthorized persons in their rooms at any time of day or night.
- Hostellers must give one calendar months’ notice of their intention to vacate room. If they wish to submit a fresh application seeking an extension of stay, then they should do so at least two calendar months prior to the termination of their stay.
The board of trustees of the Jawatte Jummah masjid and Muslim burial grounds reserve the right to impose additional conditions to reside at the hostel, to the above list if and when such conditions are deemed necessary.
